MALANG ODYSSEY

Last month, our class joined an exciting trip called “Malang Odyssey.” The journey started from Balikpapan Airport to Surabaya Airport, and from there we began exploring the beautiful city of Malang and its surroundings. This trip combined city tours, nature tourism, educational visits, and culinary experiences, making it a complete and memorable holiday.

 

After arriving in Surabaya, we had a short city tour and crossed the iconic Suramadu Bridge. The view from the bridge was impressive and became a great opening experience for our trip. We enjoyed lunch at Bebek Suramadu Sambal Pencit before continuing to Malang and checking in at Harris Hotel Malang.

 

In the evening, we tasted the famous meatballs at Bakso President and visited Malang Night Paradise, where we saw colorful lanterns, dinosaur parks, and exciting night rides.

 

The next destinations were equally enjoyable. We had fun playing in the pools at Hawai Waterpark and explored the classic atmosphere of Kayutangan Heritage. At night, we walked around Malang City Square, tasting local street food and enjoying the lively atmosphere.

 

Another highlight was relaxing at Lembah Tumpang Resort, where we enjoyed hot spring pools and beautiful gardens. We also had an educational visit to Museum Angkut. The museum displayed many classic vehicles from different eras and countries, which made the tour both fun and informative. In the evening, we explored Batu Floating Market and admired the rural night view at Cafe Sawah Pujon Kidul.

 

The adventure continued at Jatim Park 2, where we learned about animals and enjoyed various attractions. At night, we visited Batu Night Spectacular, which offered exciting rides and beautiful light parks. Before returning home, we bought souvenirs at a local souvenir center and enjoyed our last meals together before flying back to Balikpapan.

 

Besides the destinations, the tour guide played an important role in making this trip successful. The tour guide was very friendly, organized, and informative. He explained each place clearly, ensured that we followed the schedule properly, and always reminded us about safety. His guidance helped us understand the history and uniqueness of each destination, especially during visits to museums and heritage sites. Thanks to him, the trip ran smoothly and felt more meaningful.

 

Overall, the Malang Odyssey was an unforgettable experience. It offered a perfect combination of recreation, education, culinary adventures, and beautiful scenery. I highly recommend Malang as a destination for students because it provides fun activities while also giving valuable knowledge and cultural experiences.

The journey started from Samarinda with the destination of the Derawan Islands, a tourist destination well known for its clear sea and beautiful natural scenery.
