MALANG ODYSSEY

Our journey to  “Malang Odyssey.” Our adventure began atBalikpapan Airport, flying into Surabaya, which served as ourgateway to the stunning landscapes of Malang and itssurroundings. This trip was a masterfully curated blend ofurban exploration, nature retreats, educational visits, andculinary discoveries, making it an incredibly well-roundedholiday.

 

Upon landing in Surabaya, we took a brief city tour andcrossed the majestic Suramadu Bridge. The panoramic viewsfrom the bridge provided a spectacular opening to our trip. After enjoying a signature lunch of Bebek Suramadu Sambal Pencit, we proceeded to Malang and checked into the Harris Hotel. That evening, we savored the legendary Bakso President before immersing ourselves in the glowing lanternsand prehistoric wonders of Malang Night Paradise.

 

The following days were filled with non-stop excitement. weenjoyed the thrilling slides at Hawai Waterpark beforetransitioning to the vintage charm of Kayutangan Heritage, where the classic architecture transported us back in time. As night fell, we explored Malang City Square, soaking in thelocal atmosphere and sampling street food in the heart of thecity.

 

We found a moment of tranquility at Lembah Tumpang Resort, relaxing in hot spring pools surrounded by lush, ornategardens. Our journey also took an educational turn at Museum Angkut. Exploring the vast collection of classic vehicles fromdifferent eras and nations was both fascinating andenlightening. To end the day, we wandered through the Batu Floating Market and enjoyed the serene, rural evening viewsat Cafe Sawah Pujon Kidul.

 

Our exploration continued at Jatim Park 2, where wecombined wildlife education with various theme parkattractions. The excitement peaked at Batu Night Spectacular (BNS), a vibrant destination offering adrenaline-pumpingrides and stunning light installations. Before concluding ourjourney, we visited a local souvenir center to pick up gifts forour families and shared a final meal together before flyingback to Balikpapan.

 

The success of this trip was greatly enhanced by our tourguide, who played a pivotal role in our experience. He wasexceptionally professional, organized, and insightful. By providing clear historical context for each site and ensuringwe adhered to our schedule safely, he made our visits—especially to the heritage sites—far more meaningful. His guidance ensured that the entire itinerary ran seamlessly.

 

Overall, the Malang Odyssey was an unforgettable chapter forour class. It offered the perfect synergy of recreation, education, and cultural immersion. I highly recommendMalang as a premier destination for students, as it manages todeliver pure fun alongside valuable knowledge and culturaldepth.

The journey started from Samarinda to Tanjung Batu by land, which took quite a long time, but it never felt tiring thanks to the beautiful natural scenery of East Kalimantan along the way.
