Our trip to Yogyakarta began with everyone gathering at the airport, full of excitement and anticipation. From Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport, we flew to Yogyakarta, ready to explore one of the most culturally rich cities in Indonesia. The journey felt even more special because we were surrounded by friends and teachers, sharing laughter and enthusiasm from the very beginning.
After arriving, our first destination was Malioboro Street. The street was lively and colorful, filled with local vendors selling batik, handicrafts, and traditional snacks. We enjoyed walking along the busy sidewalks, trying local food, and shopping for souvenirs that represent the unique culture of Yogyakarta. The atmosphere was vibrant and gave us a warm welcome to the city.
On the second day, we visited Keraton Yogyakarta, also known as the Sultan’s Palace. There, we learned about the history, traditions, and royal heritage of the Yogyakarta Sultanate. The architecture was elegant and full of philosophical meaning. After that, we went to Parangtritis Beach to enjoy the beautiful ocean view. The sound of the waves and the cool breeze created a relaxing atmosphere where we could take photos and enjoy our time together. Later in the afternoon, we visited Obelix Hills, a popular place known for its breathtaking sunset and panoramic views. Watching the sunset with friends became one of the most memorable moments of the trip.
The next day, we explored Prambanan Temple, a magnificent Hindu temple complex with impressive architecture and deep historical value. Seeing the tall and detailed temple structures made us amazed by Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage. After that, we visited a Bakpia Pathok factory to see how the famous local snack is produced. It was interesting to observe the process directly, and of course, we bought some bakpia as souvenirs for our families.
The tour guides played an important role in making this trip enjoyable and well organized. There were five tour guides in total, two men and three women, who worked together with great teamwork and coordination. They were friendly, helpful, and informative throughout the trip. They guided us patiently at every destination and ensured that all participants stayed together and followed the schedule properly. Although sometimes their pronunciation and speaking speed were a bit difficult to understand, they still tried their best to explain clearly and assist us whenever we had questions. It would be even better if they spoke more slowly and used simpler English so everyone could understand more easily.
Overall, this trip to Yogyakarta was an unforgettable experience. We not only visited beautiful and historical places but also strengthened our friendship and created wonderful memories together. It was truly a meaningful and enjoyable journey.
