KERATON TOUR

Our trip to Yogyakarta was honestly such a vibe from the very start. We all met up at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport feeling super hyped and ready to go. Flying out with the whole squad and our teachers made the journey feel way more special, and we spent the whole flight just laughing and talking about what we were gonna do once we landed.
As soon as we arrived, we headed straight to Malioboro. That place is always so alive and full of energy. We spent hours just walking around, checking out the cool batik and handmade stuff the local vendors were selling. We also tried a bunch of street food and grabbed some souvenirs to bring back home. The whole atmosphere there was just so welcoming and really gave us those classic Jogja feels.
The next day, we visited the Sultan’s Palace, or Keraton. It was actually really interesting to see all the old buildings and learn about the history and the royal traditions of the city. After soaking up all that culture, we went to Parangtritis Beach to just chill. The ocean view was amazing, and the cool breeze was exactly what we needed. We took a ton of photos and just enjoyed hanging out by the waves. Later in the afternoon, we went up to Obelix Hills. The sunset from up there was literally breathtaking, and watching the sky change colors with all my friends around is definitely a memory I won't forget.
On the third day, we explored the massive Prambanan Temple. Seeing those huge, detailed stone structures up close was pretty mind-blowing, and it made us realize how rich Indonesia's history really is. After that, we stopped by a Bakpia Pathok factory. It was cool to see how they actually make the snacks from scratch, and of course, we had to buy a few boxes for our families.
I also want to mention our five tour guides—two guys and three girls. They were a really solid team and kept us all organized throughout the trip. They were super friendly and always ready to help whenever we had questions. The only thing was that sometimes they spoke a bit too fast or used some English words that were a little hard to catch. It would’ve been even better if they talked a bit slower and kept the language simple so everyone could understand everything they were saying.
Overall, this trip to Yogyakarta was an absolute blast. We didn't just see beautiful places; we also got way closer as a class and made memories that’ll last forever. It was definitely a trip to remember.
