Our trip to
Labuan Bajo started with a flight from Balikpapan to Komodo Airport, with a
transit in Juanda. After landing, we went straight to the hotel to check in and
rest for a while. In the afternoon, we walked around the city to feel the local
vibe and bought a few things we needed. At night, we had dinner at a local
restaurant and tried some traditional food, which was surprisingly good. After
that, we went back to the hotel to rest and get ready for the next day.
The next
morning, we headed to Labuan Bajo Harbor to start the main part of the trip.
From there, we joined a boat trip to several islands around the area. Our first
stop was Padar Island. We hiked up to the top, and even though it was a bit
tiring, the view was totally worth it. We spent some time taking photos and
enjoying the scenery before moving on. After that, we visited a conservation
area where we could see Komodo dragons in their natural habitat, guided by a
ranger. Seeing them up close was a really exciting experience and something we
won’t forget. After finishing the island tour, we returned to Labuan Bajo in
the late afternoon. Instead of doing anything hectic, we chose to relax near
the seaside and enjoy the calm atmosphere and fresh air. It was a nice way to
end a long day. In the evening, we went back to the hotel, had some rest, and
spent the night relaxing.
On the last
day, we explored a few places around Labuan Bajo by land. One of the highlights
was Batu Cermin Cave, which was interesting because of the way sunlight
reflects off the cave walls. We also took some photos there. Before heading to
the airport, we bought souvenirs and had lunch at a local restaurant.
Finally, we
flew back to Balikpapan from Komodo Airport. Overall, the trip was really
enjoyable and felt very refreshing. The natural views, the relaxed moments, and
the unique experiences made the whole journey memorable.
