My four-day journey to Semarang with friends was a colorful experience, filled with stories and moments that will stay with me. From the bustling airport to the cozy atmosphere of a coffee house, from historical landmarks to breathtaking mountain views, each day offered something new. As a participant, I felt that Semarang was not just a destination, but a space to learn, enjoy, and share memories together.
The first day began with our arrival at the airport and a short exploration of the city. Eastman Coffee House was the perfect spot to relax after the trip. The second day took us to Lawang Sewu and Kota Lama, both rich in history and colonial charm. The third day was more adventurous, with a visit to Candi Gedong Songo. The cool mountain air, stone pathways, and temple panoramas created a serene yet exciting atmosphere. We ended the evening with a local culinary highlight at Sego Pedes Mami. On the final day, we shopped for souvenirs at Istana Briliand before heading back to Samarinda, carrying home sweet memories of Semarang.
For me, this trip was more than just ticking off destinations. Lawang Sewu reminded me how history can live through architecture that still stands tall. Kota Lama gave a nostalgic feeling, as if walking through the past. Gedong Songo offered both spiritual reflection and natural adventure, making me feel closer to Javanese culture. Meanwhile, the simple yet authentic taste of Sego Pedes Mami showed that a city’s identity can also be found in its food.
What made the journey even more memorable was our tour guide. They didn’t just provide historical and cultural information clearly, but also delivered stories with warmth and humor. Every explanation felt alive, helping us understand the deeper context behind each place. The guide was attentive and supportive, ensuring the group felt comfortable and well-organized. Their presence made the trip feel more personal and enjoyable, almost like being accompanied by a friend who knows Semarang inside out.
Overall, the trip to Semarang was a rich experience: history, culture, nature, and food all blended together, supported by a professional yet friendly tour guide. As a participant, I felt that Semarang offered more than just sightseeing it gave us space to feel, to understand, and to appreciate. Four days may have been short, but they were enough to make me fall in love with this city. Semarang is not just a place to visit, but a city I will always remember and hope to return to someday.
