Hello everyone, my name is dhelya herliadi khumairoh. On the first day, my friends and I departed for Derawan early in the morning by gathering at the meeting point and continuing the journey by bus with all tour participants. The atmosphere on the bus was lively and full of excitement because everyone was eager to reach this dream destination. During the land journey, our tour guides Yasmin, Joe, Fahri, Davindra, Leon, and Rayhan Kurniawan helped organize the participants while also explaining an overview of Derawan and the itinerary we would follow.

 

Upon arriving in Derawan, we used a boat to reach the tourist spots before continuing with other types of transportation. During this time, my friends and I were assisted by Fahri and Joe, who ensured that we remained safe and comfortable. Our experience began with snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, where I was able to see and take photos with green sea turtles and tropical fish swimming freely among the coral reefs. The next stop was Maratua Island, which was equally stunning with its white sandy beaches and calm, mirror-like sea. Overall, I was most impressed by the clean boat facilities, the well-organized schedule, and the informative explanations provided by Yasmin and Rayhan Kurniawan about the local marine ecosystem. One minor drawback was the fairly strong currents at some snorkeling spots, but this was a small issue that was quickly overshadowed by the natural beauty.


From my perspective, this trip left a deep impression and provided a truly authentic experience. Each guide, especially Yasmin and Rayhan Kurniawan, was not only friendly but also very helpful whenever we wanted to explore more about marine flora and fauna. Joe and Fahri made sure all participants felt safe and comfortable, while Davindra and Leon were great at capturing our best moments during snorkeling and visits to the small islands. In my opinion, Derawan is not just an ordinary tourist destination, but a place that makes me feel connected to nature and appreciate the beauty of Indonesia’s seas.

 

Overall, I highly recommend this Derawan trip to anyone looking for a peaceful yet adventurous underwater getaway. Derawan offers a perfect combination of spectacular natural scenery, enjoyable activities, and professional tour guide services. If you are searching for a destination that creates unforgettable memories from watching sunsets over the sea to encountering turtles in their natural habitat Derawan is truly worth visiting.

The journey started from Samarinda to Tanjung Batu by land, which took quite a long time, but it never felt tiring thanks to the beautiful natural scenery of East Kalimantan along the way.
