The Derawan Islands, located in Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, are a prime Indonesian marine destination, often dubbed the "Maldives of Indonesia." The beauty of white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and rich marine life make Derawan a compelling destination to visit and enjoy its natural beauty.

The journey to Derawan begins in Samarinda, where we gather and board the bus. Along the way, we stop for a meal at Warung Hailam Acim to refuel. After arriving at Pelabuhan Indah, we continue our journey by boat to Derawan Island. Upon arrival, we relax and enjoy the coastal views at Warung Jawa Timur. In the evening, we enjoy a delicious meal and rest in a simple but comfortable hut. On our final day before returning to Samarinda, we also stop for a meal at Warung Makan Pojok Indah.

The most memorable experience was our visit to Kakaban Island. During the boat trip, we were treated to beautiful ocean views and saw turtles and stingrays swimming freely.  Diving and snorkeling provide an extraordinary experience, allowing us to witness firsthand the beauty of coral reefs and colorful fish. Other activities, such as fishing, enjoying our own catch, strolling through the Derawan night market, and gathering around a bonfire on the beach, create a warm and enjoyable atmosphere.

Overall, our trip to the Derawan Islands was a truly memorable experience. The natural beauty, the richness of the underwater world, and the sense of community created throughout the journey make Derawan a destination worth visiting. This trip not only offers natural beauty but also leaves unforgettable memories.
