This five-day, four-night trip starting from Samarinda was an amazing way to explore the marine beauty of East Kalimantan. Even though the land trip to the port was quite tiring, all the exhaustion disappeared once we arrived at the islands and saw the clear blue sea. Thanks to the well-organized team from GoWander id, everything felt smooth and enjoyable.

 

The journey kicked off early in the morning with Yasmin and Fachri, who made sure our departure and long drive to the harbor went without problems. From that moment, the adventure already felt exciting. We experienced thrilling activities like seeing manta rays in Sangalaki and swimming with stingless jellyfish in Kakaban, which was guided by Joe and became one of the most unforgettable moments of the trip.

 

Davindra then led us during snorkeling sessions and visits to local fishing villages, where we learned more about the daily lives of coastal communities. Leon helped keep the mood fun and relaxed while also taking photos and videos to capture our memories, and he handled the final-day preparations very well. At night, we enjoyed fresh seafood dinners and peaceful walks under the stars. On the way back, Reyhan Kurniawan ensured everyone returned safely to Samarinda.

 


Overall, GoWander id delivered a well-balanced trip that mixed adventure and relaxation perfectly. The beautiful underwater life, friendly guides, and great teamwork made this journey truly memorable. This trip is highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and wants an exciting yet relaxing travel experience.

The journey started from Samarinda to Tanjung Batu by land, which took quite a long time, but it never felt tiring thanks to the beautiful natural scenery of East Kalimantan along the way. From Tanjung Batu Port, we continued the trip by speedboat to Derawan Island, and the moment we were out at sea, the clear blue water and tropical atmosphere immediately set the mood for an unforgettable trip.   Derawan Island made a great first impression.
