The travel trip to Derawan Island was a meaningful and unforgettable journey to one of Indonesia’s most beautiful marine tourism destinations. This trip aimed to explore coastal ecosystems while increasing awareness of environmental conservation. Derawan Island is well known for its white sandy beaches, clear blue water, and rich marine biodiversity, making it an ideal place for educational and recreational travel. From the beginning, the trip created high expectations as it combined learning, nature exploration, and real experiences in a marine environment.
Overall, the trip was well organized and enjoyable. The first day was focused on traveling and preparation, allowing participants to adapt to the island atmosphere and learn about the geographical importance of Derawan Island. The second day became the highlight with island hopping to Sangalaki, Kakaban, and Maratua. Participants gained valuable knowledge about sea turtle conservation in Sangalaki, experienced the unique ecosystem of jellyfish in Kakaban Lake, and enjoyed snorkeling while observing coral reefs in Maratua. The activities were not only fun but also educational, making the experience more meaningful.
The trip also gave participants deeper insights into island life and sustainable tourism. On the third and fourth days, exploring Derawan Island allowed participants to interact with local residents, understand local culture, and see how tourism supports the community. Leisure activities such as walking along the beach, swimming, and relaxing emphasized the importance of enjoying nature responsibly. These experiences helped participants realize that tourism should protect, not harm, the environment.
In conclusion, the travel trip to Derawan Island was not only entertaining but also educational and inspiring. The journey ended on the fifth day with a return to Samarinda, but the lessons about marine conservation and environmental responsibility remained. Through this trip, participants gained unforgettable memories, a greater appreciation for Indonesia’s natural beauty, and a stronger awareness of the importance of protecting marine ecosystems.
